DEFINITION Guidelines for accreditation of training providers: - The primary focus of the provider coincides with the scope of coverage of FoodBev.
- Portfolio of unit standards in application should correlate with sum of that of Education, Training and Development (ETD) Practitioners (assessors in the case of assessment centres).
- The applicant seeking accreditation is registered in terms of the applicable legislation at the time of the application.
- Quality Management System (QMS) is in place.
- Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate learning programmes.
- Policies and practices for the management of off-site practical or work experience are in place.
- Financial, administrative and physical resources.
- Staff selection, appraisal and development policies and procedures.
- Assessors registered with FoodBev.
- Moderators registered with FoodBev.
- Learner entry, guidance and support systems.
- Assessment management system.
- Policies and procedures for moderation of assessments.
- Reporting procedures.
- Not accredited with another ETQA or Seta.
Full Accreditation is given if the applicant satisfies all the criteria. Full accreditation is in place for five years. FoodBev will undertake annual audits. At the start of the last year of accreditation, the provider must re-apply. Provisional Accreditation is given if the applicant satisfies essential, but not all, criteria. Provisional accreditation spans six months to two years, and the provider and FoodBev must formulate an agreement that specifies the terms by which outstanding criteria will be met. FoodBev will assist in the compilation of a development plan to achieve these objectives. Learning Programme Approval is endorsed by FoodBev SETA for a period not exceeding two years and is valid only while the training provider remains accredited by its primary Seta. Extension of Accreditation The following evidence is required when application is made for an extension of accreditation:
- A completed, signed accreditation application form
- ETD Practitioner, Assessor and equipment matrices
- A reference grid linking all Assessment Criteria of all Specific Outcomes of all new Unit Standards to pages in the learner material and to methods of assessment. - Learner induction material customised to suite the relevant qualification / skills programme / unit standard. This material should inform the learner of the title and SAQA ID / Registration number of the qualification / skills programme / unit standard, the NQF level, the number of NQF credits, the composition of the learning programme, learning assumed to be in place, RPL options, vertical and horizontal articulation options, support to be provided to learners, and assessment methods.
- Copies of customised learner, facilitator and assessment material. Where application is made for a full qualification, copies of the aforementioned material will be required for 2 Core, 1 Fundamental and 1 Elective Unit Standard. However, please contact the ETQA Project Co-ordinator to determine the exact unit standards for which material should be submitted prior to the submission of your application. Copies of material will be required for applications for an extension of accreditation to include Skills Programmes and individual Unit Standards as well.
- Policies, procedures and supporting templates for Learner entry, guidance and support; RPL; Monitoring and evaluation of the success of learning programmes; Assessment; Moderation; Document access control and confidentiality system; Recording and Reporting; and Off-site practical or work experience. Please ensure that all ETD Practitioners / Assessors indicated in the matrices listed above are registered with the FoodBev SETA.
