DEFINITION

Moderation is the quality assurance of assessments. Moderators ensure that assessments are done in a fair, valid, reliable and practical way, and that all assessors in a learning field are making similar assessment judgements of learner performance.

Moderators, too, must be registered with FoodBev SETA.

Moderators who wish to be registered with the FoodBev SETA must have been declared competent against the generic standard, and should be certified by a training provider accredited by the ETDP SETA to provide such training, assessment and certification
